LBC Deaths
• ROBELINE – J. P. King, 92, died Dec. 1. King was a Louisiana
Baptist preacher for 63 years and served as a pastor of several churches in
the state for 48 years. These included a 12-year tenure at Coldwater Baptist
Church in Hagewood. He is survived by his wife, Lucille, one son and two daughters.
SBC Deaths
• FORT WORTH, Texas – Bill Hendricks, 73, died Dec. 8.
Hendricks taught theology at three Southern Baptist Convention seminaries from
1957 to 1995 – Southwestern, Golden Gate and Southern. He was a popular
professor with students and was the author of eight books. He is survived by
his wife, Lois, and a son.
