The Pre-K through Second Grade Sunday School class at First Baptist Church of Evangeline in the photo above participated in the “Tin Cup Challenge” during the months of October and November.
They collected $70 to be used in helping feed the hungry children in the world.
“How happy they were to help children their own age,” reports Vicki Newsom of First Evangeline.
The Tin Cup Challenge is the new visual reminder of the Louisiana Baptist Convention’s collection of money for the Southern Baptist Convention’s World Hunger Offering, reports Jeff Cook of the LBC missions and ministries team.
“We can all do so much more as we serve together to meet the hunger needs of people in Louisiana and around the world,” according to the website lbc.org/World Hunger.
Tin cups, available at many retailers, can be used as offering receptacles by individuals or set up at coffee pots around the church, among other ideas seen on the website.
