TROUT – Ron Nation,pastor of Ebenezer Baptist, and Lucas LaCour, pastor of Mt. Sinai Baptist, recently completed a mission trip to Malawi, Africa, in May.
ALEXANDRIA – Calvary Baptist’s “Missions Out of this World” event took place onMay 5. A Preschoolers Missions Recognition Service took place in April.SHREVEPORT – Northwest Louisiana Baptist Association reports that World Changers is expecting 200 young people in the area the last week of July and churches are being asked to serve in meeting their needs while the World Changers serve in the community.
A Women’s Prison Ministry is in the process of starting again in the Northwest Louisiana Baptist Association. The association is sponsoring Churches busy with spring mission projects a special ministries camp at Camp Bethany Friday, May 14 and Saturday, May 15.
Northwest Louisiana Baptist Association reports that 40 association churches prayerwalked
during the week before Easter.
MANY – First Baptist furnished 200 dozen cookies to nursing home residents. Garage sale and car wash events to benefit a youth World Changers trip to Buffalo, New York, took place in early May.
LAFAYETTE – Evangeline Baptist Association’s Bower-Conrad Missions Offering is set for the week of May 16-22 during Associational Week of Prayer for Churches and Missions. VIDALIA – Several First Baptist members are to participate in the Angola Prison Revival services, May 21-22. A Kingdom Builders project event is to take place at the Lighthouse Baptist Church, Millwood, Ark., May 30 through June 5. The church continues to support a
Single Moms Ministry and a “Hemmed in Prayer” ministry.
HORNBECK – First Baptist dedicated its offering on a recent Sunday to assist Pastor Jack Bell and his family on a mission trip to Honduras, May 22-29.
ATHENS – A “Singing Benefit” took place at New Hope Baptist raised $2,700 for purchasing materials for the Bienville and Webster-Claiborne Associations-sponsored Master’s Church Builders Oklahoma mission trip May 30 through June 4.
BLANCHARD – First Baptist has set June 4-12 for a student mission trip to Brownsville, Texas. Church members are assisting with trip support by filling coin jars. Proceeds from a recent bake sale were donated to the Romanian Women’s Ministry. The church also hosted a mission auction and fish fry. Billy Crosby is interim pastor.
BERNICE – As part of Pisgah Baptist’s “10,000 Touches in 2010” outreach campaign,
the church offered 500 Touches at the Mayhaw Festival Blitz in Marion on Mother’s Day weekend. The church is to participate in the Montegut Vacation Bible School in Houma June

PONCHATOULA – The men of First Baptist are to provide a block party at the Angola Prison staff housing area in association with the annual prison revival Saturday, May 22. Spoken 4 is to participate in a mission trip to south Texas May 29 through June 4.
The Women’s MinistryTask Force Helping Hands Missions Project of First Ponchatoula is collecting toiletry and other small items such as socks, notepads, pens and small inspirational books for women in the Southeast Spouse Abuse Program and will be accepting donations through Sunday, June 6.
An Amazon River mission trip sponsored by First Ponchatoula is planned for August 16-
25. The group is to help with construction, Vacation Bible School and medical/dental

HAMMOND – Woodland Park Baptist plans a medical mission trip to El Salvador June 18-25. Participants are collecting medical supplies and reading glasses (no prescription glasses).
ZACHARY – During “The Church has Left the Building” Mission Week June 21-27, First Baptist is to focus on outreach to the local community by engaging in construction projects, a sports clinic, a block party, Sunday School projects and grocery bag evangelism. Reggie Bridges is pastor.
MINDEN – First Baptist’s “Bucks for Bibles” mission project collected $1,759.59. The Bibles are to be sent to areas along the Mississippi River. Church members also lead services at Lake Claiborne State Park the third Sundays of May through October.
The First Baptist “Pennies for Children in Romania and Jamaica” collection was sent to Evangelist Price Harris.
MINDEN – Master’s Church Builders from Bienville and Webster-Claiborne Associations are to be the lead construction team for the Wichita Community Church in Anadarko, Okla. which serves the Wichita Indian nation. The 100-plus year old church was destroyed by a tornado last year. The building project is to begin May 31. An 80-person team is to be divided into smaller teams responsible for building, cooking, revival and Vacation Bible School. Volunteers are still needed. WINNFIELD – The “Rent-A-Kid” service project of the First Baptist student ministry is to provide assistance in the areas of yard work, babysitting, furniture moving and more for residents of the community during the months of May and June. RUSTON – Temple Baptist is planning a Venezuela mission trip for July 16-24. Member Lester Fife recently returned from Bismarck, N.D., where, as a professional photographer, he took photos of all the Dakota Baptist Convention staff members and many pastors/leaders attending a Dakota Baptist Convention Leadership Conference. WALKER – Eastern Louisiana Baptist Association’s mission trip to Arrow Heights Baptist Church, the host church, in Broken Arrow, Okla., is set for July 17-21. The association’s newsletter states “all are welcome!” and “work [is available] for all ages.” The cost is $140 per person.
An “On Mission Celebration” event took place May 1-2 with Eastern Louisiana Baptist Association’s choir and worship band leading the rally as well as their youth choir. Fourteen international missionaries and twelve North American missionaries spoke in 23 churches on Sunday, May 2.
Eastern Louisiana Baptist Association through its Missions and Ministry Center Team supports the Baptist Collegiate Ministries at SLU, Camp Living Waters, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Child Evangelism Fellowship, Family Resource Clinic and the Louisiana Moral and Civic Foundation, demonstrating the associational motto “Together we do what we cannot do alone.”
The Mission Committee of Eastern Louisiana Baptist Association requests donations for tire replacements on a trailer donated by the association to the ministry of Louisiana Baptist Builders which does work on churches across Louisiana.
Several sickroom equipment items have been donated to the Eastern Louisiana Baptist Association and are available on a first- come first-served basis. David Brown is director of missions.
BOGALUSA – The date for First Baptist’s fourth annual Seldovia, Alaska, mission trip is set for July 24 through August 1. The team is to be headquartered at the Seldovia Bible Chapel. Bob Adams is pastor.
