Day 2: Luke 1-2 (NKJV) ================================== (Luke 1) Dedication to Theophilus 1 Inasmuch as many have taken in hand to set in order a narrative of those things which have been fulfilled among us, 2 just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word delivered them to us, 3 it seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write to you an orderly account, most excellent Theophilus, 4 that you may know the certainty of those things in which you were instructed. John’s Birth Announced to Zacharias 5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the division of Abijah. Day 1: Mark 15-16 (NKJV) ================================== (Mark 15) Jesus Faces Pilate 1 Immediately, in the morning, the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council; and they bound Jesus, led Him away, and delivered Him to Pilate. 2 Then Pilate asked Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?” He answered and said to him, “It is as you say.” 3 And the chief priests accused Him of many things, but He answered nothing. 4 Then Pilate asked Him again, saying, “Do You answer nothing? People like to apply this passage to marriage. That is a good application, but note that this is not found in the context of this passage. As such, this issue of being unequally yoked should be a principle of every relationship in life. You cannot walk with God and participate in unholy activity. (6:16-7:1) You do want God to walk with you don’t you? So do I. There is a requirement. We must walk in holiness. Holiness must be pursued in the life of the believer in the fear of God. (7:1) Fearing God is a good thing when fearing Him rightly leads to … [Read more...]
