SBC Deaths
FORT MYERS, Fla. – E. S. “Andy” Anderson,
74, died Oct. 31. He was a pastor and served with the Southern Baptist Sunday
School Board (now LifeWay Christian Resources) for almost 20 years until 1992.
He was known as the creator of the Sunday School-oriented Growth Spiral Program.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor, three children, 10 grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren.
n KNOXVILLE, Tenn.. J. Harold Smith, 91, died Nov. 13. He was
a well-known Southern Baptist evangelist. In 1935, Smith launched the Radio
Bible Hour, which grew to a worldwide ministry. In 1996, he began a television
ministry throughout the southeastern United States. He is survived by two children,
two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
