Deaths
•ALEXANDRIA – Maurice P. Sullivan, 72, died October
4. The Louisiana native was a graduate of Louisiana College and served in several
churches with her husband, Hartmon, before working as a Southern Baptist missionary
in Nigeria. She led in the organization of the Woman’s Missionary Union
in New York and served on the executive board of the Woman’s Missionary
Union in Maryland. After the couple retired to Pollock, she remained active
in associational Woman’s Missionary Union work and was a member at Lincecum
church in Pollock. She is survived by her husband, Hartmon, and two sons, Raymond
and James .
Retirements
•MINDEN – First church: Bill Ichter to retire as
minister of senior adults after eight years of service. He and his wife, Jerry,
also previously served 35 years in Brazil as Southern Baptist music missionaries.
Before traveling to the mission field, Ichter served three other Louisiana churches.
