LBC Deaths
CORTEZ, Colo.- Ivy Ingalls, 72, died Aug. 5 as a result of complications following
heart surgery. Ingalls was a retired Louisiana Baptist pastor. Some of the churches
he served included Oberlin Baptist Church, Oak Grove Baptist Church in Cheneyville,
Northside Baptist Church in Pineville and Oak Grove Baptist Church in Bentley.
He is survived by his wife, Edith, and one daughter.
SBC Deaths
BRENTWOOD, Tenn.- Harold C. Bennett, 78, died July 27. Bennett was president-treasurer
of the Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee from 1979-92. Prior to
this, Bennett was executive secretary-treasurer of the Florida Baptist Convention.
He also served in denominational posts in Texas, at the Southern Baptist Home
Mission Board (now North American Mission Board) and at the Sunday School Board
(now LifeWay Christian Resources). He also pastored churches in Kentucky, Arkansas,
and Louisiana. Bennett is survived by his wife, Phyllis, and two sons and a
daughter.
