NEW ORLEANS – A prayer walk is planned for Oct. 27, and another Dec. 8 ,in areas of the region most affected by Hurricane Katrina, in which Southern Baptists have an active presence.
“It’s easy,” says David Rhymes, an evangelism events coordinator with the North American Mission Board, on assignment in New Orleans. Prayer walking is simply walking around and praying for what you see and hear, he explained.
The day is to start at 8 a.m. at the BAGNO office with a briefing from Rhymes, and reports from the pastors of the churches in neighborhoods the prayer walkers will be in. Maps and specific requests will be distributed to the prayer walkers.
NATCHITOCHES – Christian Harmony Baptist hosted a 9/11 Remembrance Service to pay tribute to and honor the memory of those who were killed in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon in 2001, reports pastor David Matlock.
“The service, which was very emotional and touching, consisted of special music, readings, prayers and a message by guest speaker Keith Johnson.
