LBF welcomes seven new board members at meeting

ALEXANDRIA – The Louisiana Baptist Foundation’s Board of Trustees met for their regular quarterly meeting on Jan. 31 at the Louisiana Baptist Building in Alexandria. 

Because of an unusual cycle in board members’ tenure, the Foundation welcomed seven new trustees for the coming year. 

Cornelius Tilton, pastor of Irish Channel Christian Fellowship in New Orleans and the LBF Board President for 2012, presided over the meetings.


Kaleidoscope 2012: ‘Restoration leads to story-telling’

Expounding on her question, she retold the story of David’s sins from 2 Samuel 11-12, leading the women into the theme verse: Psalm 51:12. She encouraged women to cry out for restoration like David did.

“I saw that one word – restore – on the brochure, and it stuck out and got me interested in wanting to attend this conference,” said Paulette Welch of East Jena Baptist Church.


LC nursing students ace licensing exam for second year in a row

PINEVILLE – For the second year in a row, the class of Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) graduates who sat the NCLEX professional nursing licensure exam in Louisiana have passed it with a 100 percent pass rate.

In December 2010 there were 17 graduates from the first cohort to complete the program. All of the 15 graduates from this year’s December 2011 second cohort who sat the exam in Louisiana have been successful.

The ABSN program commenced in the fall of 2009. It offers an accelerated route for students with a prior bachelors degree who want to transition into a second career in nursing.
